Will Modern Warfare 3 revive the Call of Duty franchise?

It is no doubt that with Activision publishing a new Call of Duty game each November, there is going to be a bit of repetition among games. However, with the constant stream of games coming out the stuff that's being used over and over again is getting ridiculous! There will be a time when they realize what they're doing is getting old, but I don't think that time is now.

Time and time again we have seen the same game modes, perks, weapons and even map similarities in the games. It's about time we are given something new. Modern warfare 3 looks like it isn't going to be our savior unfortunately. Adding another number on to the title, new maps, and re-skinned weapons doesn't make a new game! On the bright side, from watching the trailer there seems to be some hope.

In the trailer we are shown a nice chunk of campaign gameplay, and it seems as though we will be able to to do a lot more than the previous games. Call of Duty black ops offered a campaign story that allowed us to really try different things (remember the home made weapon mission when in prison). It's things like this that will help the COD franchise maintain it's following because us gamers do not want to play the same thing over and over again - it does it boring!

With that being said we can hope for the best with the campaign but as for multiplayer you can probably expect nearly the exact same thing as before. We will have many different game types, yet none of them will be original. Expect there to be wager matches as there is in Black Ops, as it was a highly favorable game mode by game players.

Many players have been wishing to revert to the old prestige system, having 10 prestige of higher levels rather than 15 of lower levels. This system was much more preferred due to the higher level of accomplishment that it gives. As for perks and other aspects of multiplayer not much has been said yet, but there is talk of a beta so we will have to wait and see.
