Hot PS3 games for 2010

Even though sales slowed during the latter half of the year sales of video console games bucked the recessionary dip through 2009 and that trend could continue throughout 2010, especially following the release of several major titles in the run-up to Christmas.

The introduction of the PS3 slim console to the UK in September 2009 reinvigorated the games market for PS3 games, and with many hot games tipped for release in the early months of 2010, the odds are looking good that Sony will return to dominate the games market, throughout the first half of 2010 at least.

WWE Smackdown VS Raw 2010 is dominated the Christmas sales charts for the PS3 platform and is likely to continue to remain in the top ten for some time during 2010. The widely anticipated Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 has certainly upped the ante when it comes to first person shooter games and is also anticipated to record continued levels of sales through early 2010.
In January 2010 the two hottest releases for the PlayStation 3 are tipped to be Army of Two: The 40th Day and Dark Void, both due for release in mid-January. Also coming out in January will be Sega's Vancouver 2010 The Official Video game of the Olympic Winter Games. Although the games don't begin until mid-February this could prove to be the surprise hit of the year.

During February the onslaught of quality PS3 games will continue when Ubisoft release Assassin's Creed II: Battle of Forli, the same month as Sega release the other hottest game of the month Alien vs. Predator.

Into March the hot releases continue with Sony's Gods of War III and Yakuza 3 & 4 from Sega. The excitement doesn't stop there as Gran Turismo 5, Modnation Racers and Heavy Rain are also slated to be released in early 2010. The latter three games are eagerly awaited by gamers, especially as Modnation Racers has been previewed in beta mode and the gameplay and graphics lo ok absolutely stunning, and Gran Turismo fans will be itching to see what the latest variation of their favourite game offers.

Indeed, 2010 promises to be a blinding year for gamers in possession of a PS3 console, but there promises to be some hard choices ahead for those on a limited budget; what games to buy as brand new and what to hope to pick up as nearly new during the year!
