Timeshift Game play Review by Timothy Gagnon

Platforms: PC, XBOX

Timeshift was released in August, 2007. The game received mostly positive reviews, but it was lacking several key elements that most gamers look for in a game. However, when i first started playing the game i was hooked, i finished it in a couple days. No, i was not playing the game for a couple days straight, even though i probably could have if it was longer. But, sadly i have a life, actually i don't have a life, but your not supposed to know that, oops. Anyways, I found the game quite entertaining. Of course, every game can not be perfect, except for Half Life 2, that game is just perfect. Timeshift was not such a big hit in the gaming world, I did not even hear about it until this year, just a few months back when a friend recommended it to me. Anyways, lets talk about some aspects of the game.

GRAPHICS

The graphics in Timeshift are really quite impressive. The effects and overall textures of object s are of the highest quality, the graphics are just great. You don't even need a good PC to run it, that is one thing I really liked about how the game was made. Like Call of Duty Modern Warfare, you can play it on ordinary computers and it still looks amazing. The graphics are great, the effects are also really well done. Heres a SS.

GAMEPLAY

As you can see it looks like allot of fun.
The gameplay of this FPS is quite different compared to others in it's genre. It is another FPS that allows you to manipulate time, except unlike FEAR, you have the ability to reverse time and stop it all together. The way they integrated time control into the game was quite impressive, you have to regularly control time in a certain way to allow you to progress through different areas of the game. Of course slow motion is very useful to use when it comes to defeating your opponents. You use an assortment of guns throughout the game as well, one gun particular shoots a explosive dart at enemies. Enemies body parts are destructible, meaning if you shoot a enemy from a certain angle the body part you hit most directly will fly off. As you can imagine the game is quite gory, which makes it quite fun to play. The game play is really fun.

The Plot

Now, this is the only aspect of the game that i did not like too much. Basically, two time traveling suits were made, one called the Alpha and the other the Beta. Someone takes the Beta and uses it to become a ruler of a certain area. You than take the Alpha suit, and follow him in time and try to get back the Beta suit. Of course, your suit starts to fail, leaving you trapped in time searching for the character with the Beta suit, eventually you find him and yadi yada. The idea is great, but something was lacking. I mean, i did not really get involved in the game's story. You basically have a list of objectives and you have accomplish them. I'm not saying the story is bad I'm saying there was not allot of depth to it.

All in All

So basically, the game is quite good though it could be better. The graphics are great, the gameplay is reallu fun, and the story is ok. All in all I will give Timeshift a score of 7/10, of course, everyone ha s different opinions, you might really like it.
