Bradley Horowitz While in Amsterdam recently, we stayed in a very cool hotel: the Conservatorium.  The building itself has a storied history, and was used as a bank and then a music conservatory before being remodeled into a hotel.  The remodel preserved original elements, but exquisitely blended modern architectural aspects. Very impressive. Their website (below) has a lot of good photos.
